Aug 28, 2007 - Current Corporation News Release - 2007 Monaco Yacht Show
At the 2007 Monaco Yacht Show, Current Corporation will present its Night Navigator series of night vision camera systems for marine applications including yachts, offshore supply vessels, fast patrol boats, high speed ferries and coast guard vessels.
With the Night Navigator, vessel operators can see potential obstacles including small unlit boats, logs, buoys and whales while underway at night as well as monitor suspicious or threatening activity while at sea and at anchor.

Aug 6, 2007 - Alakai Hawaii Superferry Installs Night Navigator 8540
Vancouver, B.C. - Current Corporation has confirmed the installation of a U.S. Coast Guard approved Night Navigator 8540 camera system onboard the Auto Express 107 Alakai, the first Hawaiian Superferry. Launched at Austal USA on January 18th, 2007, the Alakai is the largest Austal catamaran built to date. The 106.5 meter high speed aluminum vehicle-passenger catamaran is powered by four MTU 20V 8000 M70 diesel engines and boasts a carrying capacity of 866 passengers and up to 282 cars. It will provide services connecting Honolulu to Maui and Kauai in three hours and from Honolulu to the Big Island in approximately four hours, at speeds up to 35 knots. |

Vancouver, B.C. - Current Corporation has confirmed the installation of the Night Navigator 8540 camera system onboard the Speedrunner II, through their Greek distributor, Marel Electronics S.A. The Speedrunner II is the latest addition to the Aegean Speed Lines fast ferry fleet. |

Vancouver, B.C. - Current Corporation has confirmed the installation of a Night Navigator 8540 camera system onboard the Jacque Cartier Monohull Passenger Ferry. Jacques Cartier will provide transportation services and will operate on an international route, connecting Saint Malo (France) and Jersey (Channel Islands). |

July 30, 2007 - Ferry Service Stalls after Bomb Threat
The Canadian Press reported that travelers were stuck for hours when B.C. Ferries was forced to cancel sailings after receiving a bomb threat that police considered credible. Twenty-one sailings were cancelled and travelers were forced to wait in terminals near Vancouver, Victoria and Nanaimo. |

June, 2007 - Seacor Cheetah’s Night Navigator will make
operations
at night and in bad weather safer...
The aluminium vessel will bear the class
notation ABS, +A1 HSC Crewboat + AMS +
DPS-2. Apart from a newly designed crew transfer
system (described OSJ March/April 2007), the DP
2 catamaran will also carry another innovation in
the form of a night vision system from Canadian
manufacturer Current Corp.
This Night Navigator system for Seacor Cheetah will
make operation of the crewboat safer at night and in
poor weather conditions. It uses a two-axis stabilised,
image-intensified night vision camera also a day
colour camera with radar tracking and 360 degree
slip ring rotation. |
