We are seeking an experienced Supply Chain Manager to lead end-to-end supply chain operations across procurement, planning, supplier development, and inventory management. This is a full-time, on-site role at our Port Coquitlam facility and is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-moving, technical hardware development environment. You will ensure that materials and components are sourced, purchased, and delivered to support engineering cycles, production schedules, financial targets, and customer commitments.

Core Responsibilities:

Procurement & Materials Execution

  • Create and manage RFQs, supplier quotes, and POs for R&D, prototypes, and production orders. 
  • Ensure timely procurement of long lead, high risk, and development items to support engineering and product timelines.
  • Maintain accurate procurement data in ERP/MRP systems, including part pricing, lead times, MOQs, and sourcing status.
  • Coordinate expedited orders and schedule adjustments as required to support evolving build priorities. 

Planning, Forecasting & Sales Support 

  • Collaborate with Sales regarding demand forecasting and translating that into order fulfillment strategies, taking into account order lead-times, supply risks, and production capacity.
  • Align procurement activity with production schedules and evolving forecast assumptions. 

Strategic Sourcing & Supplier Development

  • Identify, qualify, and onboard new domestic and international suppliers for mechanical, optical, electronic, and custom components and assemblies
  • Lead strategic sourcing initiatives to improve cost, lead time, quality, and scalability.
  • Work closely with Engineering during component selection to ensure parts are manufacturable, available, and cost effective.
  • Own supplier selection decisions for new product introductions (NPI). 

Supplier Performance Management

  • Develop, maintain, and continuously improve supplier scorecards, tracking metrics such as: On time delivery, Quality and defect rates, Cost competitiveness, Responsiveness and technical support
  • Lead supplier performance reviews, corrective action plans, and improvement initiatives.
  • Establish preferred supplier lists and long-term supplier partnerships where appropriate. 

Engineering Support

  • Support R&D and prototype builds by sourcing custom or low-volume components. 
  • Partner with Engineering during design reviews to provide input on: component availability and lifecycle, lead times and supply risk, cost and alternative part options
  • Further the ECO implementation to better handle item revisions, inventory disposition, and supplier communication. 

Risk Management & Contingency Planning

  • Identify and evaluate risks related to single source components, long lead times, obsolete parts, and external disruptions.
  • Develop and maintain contingency plans, including dual sourcing, alternate components, buffer stock, or in house manufacturing options. 
  • Proactively support risk reduction efforts during product design and supplier selection. 

Cost Reduction & Manufacturing Strategy

  • Lead continuous cost reduction initiatives through supplier negotiation, alternate sourcing, and value engineering.
  • Analyze make vs buy opportunities and assess feasibility of bringing selected components or processes in house.
  • Partner with Manufacturing and Engineering to improve 

Budgeting & Financial Alignment

  • Develop and manage procurement and supply chain budgets across development and production programs and track actual spend versus plan 
  • Provide forecasts for future quarters and fiscal years based on inventory planning and cost-reduction initiatives 

Inventory & Lifecycle Management

  • Support inventory planning strategies that balance availability, carrying cost, and obsolescence risk.
  • Manage component lifecycle risks, including end of life (EOL) and last time buy planning.
  • Oversee disposition strategies for excess or obsolete inventory resulting from design changes or forecast shifts. 

Systems, Processes & Scalability

  • Improve supply chain processes, documentation, and internal controls as the company scales.
  • Ensure data accuracy and discipline within ERP/MRP and related planning tools.
  • Support the transition from low volume builds to higher volume manufacturing by evolving sourcing and planning strategies. 

Qualifications:

Required

  • Valid Canadian work permit or resident / citizen status
  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Operations, Engineering, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in supply chain, sourcing, or procurement within a hardware development and manufacturing environment
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems with 1+ years of dedicated NetSuite experience
  • Proven experience supporting R&D, prototyping, and production sourcing
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and cross functional communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and an ability to work under pressure and juggle changing priorities
  • Productive self-starter with demonstrated initiative and ability to work with minimal supervision to meet demanding deliverables 

Preferred

  • Experience with camera systems, optics, electronics, or precision electro-mechanical products
  • Experience working with contract manufacturers and in-house manufacturing teams
  • Knowledge of NPI and product lifecycle management
  • APICS / CSCP or similar certification 

SALARY RANGE:

$90,000 – $110,000 annually, with potential for higher compensation for exceptional qualifications and experience.
