JOB SUMMARY

You would join a small team of C++ developers working across several codebases, each handling a different part of our stabilized electro-optical camera systems. In a given month you might integrate a new thermal sensor, work with a supplier to track down a bug that only appears on hardware, write a library that several projects share, run experiments to improve our control algorithms, or build an internal tool that helps other teams work faster. Designs are agreed together and every change is reviewed. Our team is growing and your work would span several of these projects rather than a single one.

REQUIRED SKILLS

• Modern C++. 4+ years writing C++ that shipped to real users; fluent in C++17 or 20.
• Concurrency. Threads and asynchronous code, and the ability to explain the choices you made.
• Library ownership. You have owned code other people build on top of.
• Tooling. CMake, a package manager, Git, pull requests and automated builds.
• Linux and Windows. Building, installing and debugging on a machine other than your own.
• Debugging and testing. You reproduce a problem before fixing it, find the real cause rather than a workaround, and leave a test behind.
• AI-assisted development. We use coding assistants daily and expect you to as well. What matters is judgement: understanding every line you keep and catching a bad design when the model reaches for one. 

BS in Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent experience, is required. While experience in EO/IR cameras and maritime technology is an asset, it is not a hard requirement; we teach the domain on the job.

SALARY RANGE:

$70,000 to $100,000 + benefits
