We are looking for hands-on detail focused individual to join our company as a full-time Mechatronic Technician Lead who will be part of the growing manufacturing team. This role will be primarily responsible for the assembly of our latest systems along with supervisory tasks of junior technicians or coop students. You will report to the Manufacturing Floor Manager to ensure customer sales orders are consistently filled in time. In this role, the successful candidate will:
- Be able to assemble new or repair systems, and potentially test depending on aptitude, to ensure deadlines are met and the quality of our product meets or exceeds required standards
- Utilize our ERP to update system status and log issues
- Train, supervise, convey priorities, assign tasks, and set clear expectations to junior or coop technical staff on the manufacturing line as required, with guidance from the Manufacturing Floor Manager, to ensure the quality and quantity of product produced by them meets desired outcomes.
- Perform interviews and assist in hiring additional technical assembly staff as required
- Provide feedback on assembly SOPs as part of the continuous improvement company goals and ISO 9001 quality management system compliance
Required Skills
- 3+ years experience assembling electro-mechanical products in a manufacturing environment
- 3+ years experience managing and training a 5-10 person team with authority and confidence
- Strong, clear and direct interpersonal communication skills along with emotional intelligence.
- Ability to excel in a dynamic environment with changing priorities and tasks
- Productive self-starter with demonstrated initiative and ability to work with minimal supervision to meet demanding deliverables
- Strong ability to troubleshoot and make quick decisions, including escalating issues to other teams as required and holding them accountable for a resolution within a reasonable timeline
- Comfortable using powered and hand-tools.
- Strong organizational skills, hand-eye coordination, and excellent attention to detail
- Highly experienced in using a commercial ERP such as NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Infor
Additional Beneficial Skills
- Degree or diploma in engineering program (manufacturing, mechanical, electrical, systems)
- Experience with engineering and manufacturing processes (Lean, ISO, etc.) and standards (MIL-STD, IEC, etc.)
- Hands-on experience with computer hardware, motors, electronics, software development, etc.
