Engineering/ Computing Science co-o

Job Description:

We are looking for a 3rd or 4th year engineering or computing science student to join our engineering team for a 4 month co-op term.  As part of Current's engineering team the selected student will be supporting our team in designing and implementing our newest ONVIF control and streaming video interface for Current's camera systems.  This will include:

  • Understanding the existing code base and functionality
  • Researching the requirements of ONVIF compliance
  • Understanding the design of the preliminary ONVIF implementation
  • Assisting in writing software to receive ONVIF commands and translate them to control the camera system
  • Assisting in creating a test platform if required
  • Testing and debugging

Skills/Experience Required:

  • Programming in C/C++
  • Familiarity with Java
  • Experience working in Linux
  • XML, SOAP, REST programming
  • H.264 streaming video, RTSP
  • Analytical and problem solving skills
  • Good understanding of software architecture and program flow
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Attention to detail, yet able to work in a dynamic, fast paced environment
  • Ability to learn and apply concepts quickly
